Internship at the Conferences Department

The European Alliance for Innovation; www.eai.eu is a community-driven organization devoted to empowering ICT innovation in Europe.  As the largest of its kind EAI is expanding its operations in Central Europe in cooperation with the Slovak Technical University. Through its over a hundred events worldwide, EAI provides an environment for ICT innovation community to interact.

EAI is now seeking an Intern to assist the Conference Managers team in Bratislava to support and lead its conference activities in cooperation with researchers and industry around the globe.  This role may be a starting point in your career, giving the intern the possibility of progression to more senior roles.

Job Requirements
Providing support to the CMs team with the following issues:
-  Assisting the with the planning and logistics of conferences.
-  Supporting volunteer conference organizing committees, from committee set up, to website, to call for papers, call for participation, budget monitoring;
- Contribution to the preparation of the Marketing Material for online communities;
- Opportunity to work in English in an international environment.

Technical Skills
- Knowledge of office practices, policies and procedures with practical experience using MS Office suite products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Excellent command of English;
- Knowledge of social media marketing a plus;
- Experience with scientific conferences, activities or communities a plus.

Specific Job responsibilities will include: 
- Assisting with the organization of technical conferences;
- Supporting the volunteer conference organizing committees, from committee set up, to website, to call for papers, call for participation, budget monitoring, venue management and content publication;
- Preparation and promotion of conference marketing and publicity through web and social channels;
- Liaison with partner organizations and sponsorship acquisition;

Organization skills:
- Good organizational skills to support multiple parallel events; 
- Ability to work with communities;
- Ability to develop good customer relationships;
- Autonomous thinking and good analytical skills;
- Capability to adapt to dynamic environments;
- Excellent writing and oral skills;
- Ability to work hands-on and with limited supervision;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary school student
University student

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

  • Excellent English skills, oral and written
  • Sound computer skills and ability to quickly learn new technical interfaces
  • Service minded, positive and team-oriented


The following skills will be considered a plus:

  • understanding of events management and coordination activities;
  • financial budgeting skills;
  • experience working in events;
  • experience working in a team.
